<description>Ruth and Jim: interesting story and analysis. Although I did not participate in study abroad or co-op abroad, I often wish I did! It appears that you (Ruth) came to a life changing revelation ("I am now certain that I want to live there after college"-Ruth). I'm happy for you. I am an immigrant and understand the feeling of culture shock when I visit my homeland after a long time away. Like you, it takes a little more time to adjust due to my connection: 'You are the same like them, but different somehow, and I think it's the feeling of displacement that make it a little difficult to adjust at first. When you are finally adjust and come back, you feel the pressure to give it up again'. The want/need for individuals to choose a Dual citizenship comes to my mind.
I'm a strong believer in co-op education, and especially those abroad. I know individuals that worked/studied abroad during college, and to then in their adult life return to study/work abroad. It certainly increases your wing span for experience.

Thank you both.
